This specimen was lot 148 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabruck, June 2015), where it sold for €600 (about US$775 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Hamburg, STADT Goldgulden 1587, mit Titel Rudolfs II. Unbekannter Münzmeister. GOLD. RR Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, Prägeschwäche, sehr schön. Exemplar der Slg. Schierhorn, Auktion Fritz Rudolf Künker 176, Osnabrück 2010, Nr. 5007 und der Slg. Kirsten, Auktion Schlessinger 8, Berlin 1931, Nr. 285. (Germany, city of Hamburg, ducat of 1587, in the name of Rudolf II, unknown mintmaster. Very rare, edge crack, cleaned, very fine.)"
Friedberg lists this scarce type for 1581-89, 1600 and 1608.
