Halberstadt in 1547
This specimen was lot 102 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabruck, June 2015), where it sold for €900 (about US$1,163 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Halberstadt, BISTUM Domkapitel. Reichstaler 1626. Mit Punkt zwischen dem Kopf den heiligen Martin und dem Palmzweig. R Sehr schön. (bishopric of Halberstadt, thaler of 1626, with dot between the head of St. Martin and his palm frond. Scarce, very fine.)"
The bishop, Christian, was from Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel but never ruled as duke there. This rare type is not awarded a photo in the SCWC.
