Halberstadt in 1547
This specimen was lot 101 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabruck, June 2015), where it sold for €380 (about US$491 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"Halberstadt, BISTUM Domkapitel. Reichstaler 1625 (Jahreszahl im Stempel aus 1623 geändert). R Kl. Schrötlingsfehler am Rand, leichte Prägeschwäche, sehr schön. (bishopric of Halberstadt, thaler of 1625, edge splits, lightly cleaned, very fine.)"
The bishop, Christian, was from Brunswick-Wolfenbuttel but never ruled as duke there. This rare type is not awarded a photo in the SCWC.
