This type was minted in Guatemala in large numbers 1894-97 with help from the Heaton mint in Birmingham, England. It is the last in a series of seated liberty designs beginning in 1872. They were struck to displace the Chilean pesos and Peruvian soles counterstamped in 1894.

Specification: 25 g, 0.900 fine silver, 0.723 troy oz ASW.
