This eight reales cob-type coin (struck on planchets intended for milled coins) was lot 677 in Cayon Subastas (Madrid, Feb 4, 2012), where it sold for about $505. The catalog description[1] noted, "Guatemala. 8 reales. 1753. J. 27 grs. BC+. Escasa. (Guatemala 8 reales 1753-J. Fine. Scarce.)."

Specification: 27.07 g, 0.917 fine silver, 0.798 troy oz ASW.
