This specimen was lot 1353 in Jean Elsen sale 115 (Brussels, December 2012) where it sold for €10000 (about US$15,263 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"NEDERLAND, GRONINGER OMMELANDEN, De Staten van Friesland tussen Eems en Lauwers in opstand, AR Bourgondische rijksdaalder, 1589, Culemborg. Droit : (zuil) N DOM FRI AD LEG PHILIP BVRG Bourgondisch kruis onder kroon. Revers : DOMINVS MI-HI ADIVTOR Gekroond wapenschild, omringd door de keten van het Gulden Vlies. Van de grootste zeldzaamheid. Barstjes op kz. Mooie patina. Ex HSA 6992. Zeer Fraai à Prachtig. (Groningen Ommelanden, burgundian rixdollar of 1589, Culemborg mint. Obverse: Burgundian cross under a crown; reverse: crowned arms, Order of the Golden Fleece around. Of the highest rarity, nice patina, very fine to extremely fine.)"
