This specimen was lot 24006 in Stack's Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2018), where it sold for $228. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREECE. 2 Lepta, 1878-K. PCGS AU-58 Secure Holder. Small anchor. Very scarce. Good strike with chocolate brown surfaces." This type is listed for 1878 only and is common in circulated condition. Despite the substantial mintage, this type is scarce in nice condition. This product of the Bordeaux mint was accompanied by bronze one, five and ten lepta, all struck to French standards. Small and large anchor varieties exist. King George ruled 1863-1913.
