This specimen was lot 33252 in Heritage sale 3073 (Chicago, April 2019), where it sold for $552. The catalog description[1] noted, "Greece. Othon 2 Lepta 1842 AU58 Brown NGC. A difficult type to procure so close to Mint State, only the most minimal evidence of rub on the highest points of the design. From the Engelen Collection of World Coinage." This type was struck 1832-42. This specimen realized one third of the catalog value. King Otto, originally a Bavarian princeling, fell foul of the local politicians and was forced to abdicate in 1863.
