This specimen was lot 1756 in Goldberg sale 106 (Los Angeles, September 2018), where it sold for $1,680. The catalog description noted, "Great Britain. 5 Pounds, 2002. Queen on horse. Choice Brilliant Proof." The catalog listing, specification and mintages reported below are complicated by the multiple formats of issue: copper-nickel (KM 1024), silver (KM 1024a) and gold (KM 1024b). We have noted here the mintages given in the SCWC altho they do not coincide with Seaby. This NCLT honors the 50th anniversary of queen Elizabeth's reign.
Recorded mintage: 3,469,243 (incl. KM 1035) + proofs in copper-nickel and silver plus more proofs in gold.
