This specimen was lot 2496 in Goldberg sale 98 (Los Angeles, June 2017), where it sold for $616.87. The catalog description noted, "Great Britain. Two Pounds, 1996. Elizabeth II. Reverse: Soccer ball. In original case." This commemorative honoring the tenth European Football Championship is another in an extensive series of NCLT's struck in multiple metals for the elite and the common herd.
