This specimen was lot 1112 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $564. The catalog description[1] noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Penny, 1931. ANACS PROOF-63 RB. RARE in proof. Sharply struck with considerable mint red." This type was issued in large numbers 1928-36 but the proofs are rare.

Recorded mintage: 19,843,000 plus proofs.

Specification: 9.4 g, bronze, 31 mm diameter.
