Great Britain 1893 sovereign
This specimen was lot 40165 in Ponterio sale 168 (Philadelphia, August 2012), where it did not sell. The catalog description noted, "GREAT BRITAIN. Sovereign, 1893. PCGS PROOF-64+ Deep Cameo. Secure Holder. Tied for second finest Deep Cameo graded by PCGS." This type was struck 1893-1901 in considerable numbers. This "old bust" is the most familiar and most common of Victoria's sovereigns.
