Spink sale 9031, lot 428

This specimen is part of lot 428 in Spink sale 9031 (London, November 2009). The catalog description[1] noted, "Victoria, young head Crowns, 1847 xi, one very fine, one fine (2)." This type was issued 1839-47. No further crowns were struck for circulation until 1887.

Recorded mintage: 141,000.
