This specimen was lot 2075 in Goldberg sale 106 (Los Angeles, September 2018), where it sold for $456. The catalog description[1] noted, "Great Britain. Sixpence, 1697. William III. First bust. Reddish-tan toning with sparkling luster. NGC graded MS-65." This type was struck 1695-97 at London and various branch mints. This specimen is from London and is catalogued as the third bust of William III. Despite its short run, many varieties exist.
