This specimen was lot 24902 in Heritage sale 3032 (Chicago, April 2014), where it sold for $2,115. The catalog description[1] noted, "Charles II Shilling 1674, XF45 NGC. 2nd Bust with obverse and reverse plumes. A highly popular, somewhat elusive issue with a noticeably sharp, well-centered strike and desirable, aged patination." Charles II shillings come without plume below the bust (KM 427.1) struck 1666-83 and with plume (KM 427.2) struck 1671-80. The "with plume" type is priced about double those without plumes.
