Sincona sale 20, lot 3384

This specimen was lot 3384 in Sincona sale 20 (Zurich, October 2014), where it sold for CHF 350 (about US$439 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted, "6 Quarts (1 Sol 6 Deniers) 1775. FDC. (uncirculated.)" This type was issued 1750, 1763, 1775-76 with and without the "G" mintmark. Those without (as shown here) are considerably scarcer. One sol = 12 deniers, one florin = 12 sols, one thaler = 12 florins and 9 sols.
