This specimen was lot 33855 in Heritage sale 3076 (Long Beach, CA, September 2019), where it sold for $432. The catalog description[1] noted, "German States: Friedberg. Johann Eitel II 2/3 Taler 1747-CPS AU50 NGC, Clausthal mint. A very difficult issue produced for only a single year, and which is almost never found outside of lower grades. Fully appealing and luminous." The SCWC lists this one-year type as scarce. it was accompanied by a thaler (Dav-2250). The Burgravate of Freidberg passed to Hesse in 1802.
