French Indochina 1911-A 10 centimes
This specimen was lot 769 in Stack's Coin Galleries sale (New York, December 2009), where it sold for $287.50. The catalog description noted, "FRENCH INDO-CHINA. 10 Centimes, 1911 A. Seated Republic. Rv. Value in wreath. Lovely glowing lustre makes this super Gem a splendid type example. MS-66 (ANACS)." This type was issued from the Paris mint 1898-1919 and superseded a similar design of .900 fineness (KM 2) issued 1885-97. Billon coins with this design (KM 16) were minted 1920-31. The date is not rare tho better than the common dates, 1902 and 1913.
