The first specimen was lot 23634 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $2,350. The catalog description[1] noted, "Frankfurt. Free City gold Ducat 1790, MS62 NGC, well-struck features with full mint luster, scarce type struck to celebrate the coronation of Leopold." The second specimen was lot 1823 in Sincona sale 38 (Zurich, May 2017), where it sold for 575 CHF (about US$690 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,
"Leopold II. 1790-1792 Dukat 1790. Auf die Wahl Leopolds II. zum römischen Kaiser in Frankfurt. Sehr schön. Leichte Fassungsspuren. (Holy Roman Empire, Leopold II, 1790-92, ducat of 1790, issued in Frankfurt on the coronation of the emperor in Frankfurt. Very fine. Some small traces of mounting.)"

Specification: 3.5 g, .986 fine gold, .110 troy oz AGW, the second specimen 3.46 g.
