Kunker sale 263, lot 861
This specimen was lot 861 in Künker sale 263 (Osnabrück, June 2015), where it sold for €600 (about US$775 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"STADT Konv.-Taler 1776, auf den Brückenbau bei Hausen. Vorzüglich +. (Germany, city of Frankfurt, thaler of 1776, on the new bridge at Hausen. Extremely fine or better.)"
Frankfurt, a prolific issuer of thalers in the seventeenth century, issued only a few in the eighteenth. This one, honoring a new bridge, was the first since 1772 (Dav-2226) and the last until 1793 (Dav-2228).

Recorded mintage: unknown but slightly scarce.
