This specimen was lot 22296 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Anaheim, CA, August 2016), where it sold for $305.50. The catalog description[2] noted, "FRANCE. Sol, 1791-W. Lille Mint. Louis XVI (1774-93). NGC MS-63 BN. Nice even cocoa brown patina." This is a slightly scarce date of a common type. The Lille mint is listed for every year of 1777-91.

Recorded mintage: 469,440[1].

Specification: 12.24 g, copper, 28-31 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by Benjamin Duvivier.
