This specimen was lot 1312 in Stephen Album sale 27 (Santa Rosa, CA, January 2017), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE: Louis XVI, 1774-1792, AE sol, Orleans mint, 1782-R. NGC graded MS63 RB." This type was minted 1777-91 and many dates are common. This one is better but not rare. Orleans mint struck this type 1782-88 and 1790-91.

Recorded mintage: 180,733.

Specification: 12.24 g, copper, 28-31 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by Benjamin Duvivier.
