This specimen was lot 814 in Jean Elsen sale 132 (Brussels, March 2017), where it sold for €650 (about US$823 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[2] noted,
"FRANCE, Royaume, Louis XV (1715-1774), AV louis d'or au bandeau, 1770W, Lille. D/ T. à g., ceinte d'un bandeau. R/ Ecus ovales de France et de Navarre sous une couronne. Rare Frappé avec des coins légèrement rouillés. Très Beau. (kingdom of France, Louis XV (1715-74), gold louis d'or of the ribbon of 1770, Lille mint. Obverse: head to left, wearing a ribbon; reverse: oval arms of France and Navarre below a crown. Rare, struck with rusted dies, very fine.)"

Recorded mintage: 75,496, a slightly better date.

Specification: 8.158 g, .917 fine gold, 24 mm diameter, reeded edge, this specimen 8,11 g.
