This specimen was lot 2405 in Ponterio sale 164 (New York, January 2012), where it sold for $373.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "FRANCE. Ecu, 1765-L. NGC AU-50." This product of the Bayonne mint is counted as a common date.

Recorded mintage: unknown but common.

Specification: silver, 11 deniers (.917 fine), 8.3 pieces to the mark (29.488 g), face value 6 livres, 39 mm diameter. Engraved by Joseph-Charles Roéttiers.
