France 1750-A 1/10 ecu
This coin, called a 1/10 écu au bandeau, was the French equivalent of a ten cent piece. In the coinage system of the ancien régime, the 1/10 écu = 12 sols. The type was struck 1741-72 and is recorded for the Lyon mint ("D") for 1740-44, 1746, 1750, 1755, 1757-59, 1765 and 1767-70. This specimen was lot 1473 in CGB sale 31 (Paris, June 2007).
