France 1720-B 20 sols

This specimen is a twenty sols de France-Navarre struck at the Rouen mint, one of a type struck there in 1719-20. This specimen was lot 1556 in CGB sale 24 and is counted as a better date only by comparison to the Paris mint, which emitted over 13 million pieces.

Recorded mintage: 1,798,041[1].

Specification: silver, 11 deniers (.917 fine), 60 pieces to the mark (4.079 g), face value 20 sols, 23 mm diameter. Engraved by Norbert Roéttiers.
