CGB sale 31, lot 1359

The specimen shown is a twelth écu à la mèche longue struck at Aix during the reign of Louis XIV of France. It was lot 1359 in CGB sale 31 (Paris, June 2007). The type was issued 1646-60 and is common. Droulers[1] prices this date about 10% more than the common 1658-N.

Recorded mintage: 263,769[1].

Specification: 2.28 g, .917 fine silver, 20 mm diameter, plain edge, designed by Jean Warin.
