France 1584-M 2 sols
The billon double sol parisis, struck at numerous mints 1578-89, had a face value of thirty deniers tournois. This specimen is from the Toulouse mint. It appeared in a CGB sale in 2009 but, sadly, we have lost the cataloguing information. The later double sol of Louis XV was 2.18 g, .208 fine silver and tariffed at 24 deniers tournois.
