Jean Elsen sale 135, lot 1404
This specimen was lot 1404 in Jean Elsen sale 135 (Brussels, December 2017), where it sold for €95 (about US$132 including buyer's fees). The catalog description[1] noted,
"FRANCE, Royaume, Henri III (1574-1589), AR teston, 1576H, La Rochelle. D/ B. l. et cuir. à d., au col plat. R/ Ecu de France couronné, entre deux H couronnés. Griffe au droit. presque Très Beau. (kingdom of France, Henry III, 1574-89, silver teston of 1576, La Rochelle mint. Obverse: armored, laureate bust with flat collar to right; reverse: crowned arms of France divides two crowned "H's". Scratch on obverse, about Very Fine.)"
This type was struck 1575-77 with a flat collar (shown here) or a ruffed collar (Dupl-1126).
