France 1567-M ecu d'or
This specimen was lot 4302 in Goldberg sale 65 (Los Angeles, September 2011), where it sold for $776.25. The catalog description noted, "France. 1 Ecu d'or, 1567-M (Toulouse). Charles IX, 1560-1574. Crowned arms. Reverse: Floriated cross. NGC graded EF-45." This coin is called the écu d'or au soleil in Duplessy with a face value of fifty sols tournois and is noted with many variations in obverse and reverse legends.
