This specimen was lot 30872 in Heritage sale 3049 (Long Beach, September 2016), where it sold for $2,115. The catalog description noted, "Edward VI Shilling 1550 AU50 NGC, Tower mint, Second period, Swan mm, An attractive example of this issue, weak in places but with an excellent portrait and stunning patina. A small edge chip is not[ed] at 11 o'clock." The date is expressed as "M.D.L." on the reverse.
