This specimen was lot 24004 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted, "Eichstatt. Johan Anton III Taler 1783, AU55 NGC, nicely toned and original, two dark spots on the reverse. A well-struck Taler with considerable mint luster. Sold with a very old collector's tag in German." The bishopric of Eichstatt, now in Bavaria, occasionally issued coins. "Sede vacante" (vacant seat) thalers were issued on the occasion of the death of the incumbent bishop (or pope) and prior to the elevation of his successor.

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.
