This specimen was lot 315 in Stacks-Bowers NYINC sale (New York, January 2015), where it sold for $3,055. The catalog description[1] noted, "AUSTRIA. Dietrichstein. Taler, 1726. Vienna Mint. Karl Ludwig (1698-1732). NGC MS-62. Finest certified specimen. Dark toning. Sharply struck with very crisp features. From the Rockaway Collection." This rare issue was struck for the prince at Vienna in 1726 and is the only thaler from Dietrichstein issued in the eighteenth century.
