Deventer, Kampen and Zwolle in 1648
This specimen was lot 1961 in Sincona sale 47 (Zurich, May 2018), where it did not sell. The catalog description[1] noted,
"THE NETHERLANDS, Deventer, Kampen und Zwolle. Taler 1580. Titel Rudolphs II. Fast vorzüglich. Etwas Belag, sonst überdurchschnittlich erhalten. (Netherlands, cities of Deventer, Kampen and Zwolle, thaler of 1580, struck in the name of Rudolf II. About extremely fine, Some spots, otherwise extraordinary condition.)"
The towns of Deventer, Kampen and Zwolle are in central Overijssel and banded together in the mid-sixteenth century to issue coinage. This type is listed for 1577-88 along with a klippe (Dav-8539A) issued in 1583.
