This specimen was lot 23723 in Heritage sale 3024 (Chicago, April 2013), where it sold for $2,937.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Christian VII Rigsdaler Species 1798 HIAB-B, MS64 NGC, a superb example with boldly struck features and aged cabinet patina. Highly attractive, one of the nicer Danish Speciesdalers we have seen." This type was issued 1798-99 with similar speciedalers noted for 1795-97. It is scarce but not as rare as the "albertdaler".
