This specimen was lot 24808 in Heritage sale 3030 (New York, January 2014), where it sold for $4,112.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "Danzig. Johann Casimir Taler 1649-GR, AU53 NGC. A choice example toned in gunmetal gray with circulation wear on the highest points. The details are generally sharp and the surfaces bear few noteworthy marks." The city of Danzig issued this thaler 1649 but this is a fairly common type; smaller coins such as groszy and orts are much more reasonable.

Recorded mintage: unknown.

Specification: silver.

Catalog reference: KM-40; Dav-4358.
