This specimen was lot 29611 in Heritage sale 3042 (Long Beach, September 2015), where it sold for $4,817.50. The catalog description[1] noted, "British Colony - Edward VII 1/2 Piastre 1908 MS63 Brown NGC. A significant, one-year type with glossy, chestnut coloration and instances of blended coppery color throughout. Absolutely scarce at this level and rarely offered in the marketplace, this selection presents well-struck devices and fields that are fairly clear, lacking any noteworthy disruptions. Visually engaging and somewhat undervalued in the [SCWC] reference." This one year type, slightly more than a British half penny, is scarce, along with the matching quarter piastre and one piastre.

Recorded mintage: 36,000.
