Currency of the Danish West Indies
This specimen was lot 5275 in Ponterio sale 152 (New York, January 2010), where it sold for $1,150. The catalog description noted, "DANISH WEST INDIES. 5 Francs, 1905. P-17. This is from a series which seldom shows itself at public auction and is highly desired by collectors. Every note from this National Bank of Danish West Indies is scarce to rare. This lowest denomination note will please as it shows terrific color and appeal for the technical grade. Even and light circulation are seen on original problem free paper. VERY FINE."
