This specimen was lot 11436 in Ponterio sale 169 (Baltimore, November 2012), where it sold for $1,495. The catalog description[1] noted, "MEXICO. Revolution Durango-Cuencame. Peso, 1914. 'Muera Huerta'. Toned. With Mr. Wood's hand-lettered cardboard holder. EXTREMELY FINE. Ex: Howland Wood Collection." The famous "Muera Huerta" (Death to the dictator Huerta) was issued in numerous varieties while the Villistas occupied Durango state. This type is scarce but much more available than the variety with stars (KM 620).

Recorded mintage: unknown but scarce.

Specification: silver, 38 mm diameter.
