This specimen was lot 8402 in Ponterio sale 151 (Baltimore, November 2009), where it sold for $1265. The catalog description[1] noted, "COSTA RICA. 1500 Colones, 1974. Anteater. PCGS PR-67 DEEP CAMEO." This commemorative is accompanied by a 50 colones (KM 200) featuring a sea turtle and a 100 colones (KM 201) featuring a manatee.

Recorded mintage: 2,418 plus 726 proofs.

Specification: 33.43 g, .900 fine gold, .967 troy oz AGW, reeded edge.
