The first specimen was lot 20224 in Heritage Auctions sale 3005 (Long Beach, May 2009), where it sold for $373.75. The catalog description[1] noted, "Province of Cordoba 1/4 Real ND (1853-54), MS65 NGC, eight pointed sunface, a superb example with sharp details and lightly toned, original mint luster. Very rare in this select quality!" The province of Cordoba in Argentina issued an extensive series of silver coins, quarter real thru eight reales, during 1833-54.
