This 200 pesos is an NCLT ("non-circulating legal tender") commemorative of the visit of Pope Paul VI to Colombia on the occasion of the International Eucharistic Congress. This specimen was lot 2850 in Goldberg sale 59 (Beverly Hills, June 2010), where it sold for $287.50. The catalog description noted, "Colombia. 200 Pesos, 1968. Bust of Pope Paul VI left and Bogota's Cathedral at left. On International Eucharistic Congress in Bogota. NGC graded Proof 64 Ultra Cameo. The Ports of Call Collection." This type was accompanied by gold 100 pesos (KM 231), 300 pesos (KM 233), 500 pesos (KM 234) and 1500 pesos (KM 235). For the masses, a copper-nickel five pesos (KM 230) was emitted.

Recorded mintage: 108,000 plus 8,000 proofs.
