This aluminum-bronze two centavos was struck in Bogotá, of a type issued only in 1960 to commemorate the sesquicentennial of Colombia's declaration of independence, which independence took a decade of brutal fighting to secure. Similar types were issued intermittently 1952-1965.

Recorded mintage: 250,000.
