Colombia 1943B 5 centavos rev DSLR.jpg

This five centavos was struck in Bogotá, Colombia, of a type issued 1942-46 and 1952-79. This type overlaps the earlier copper-nickel type issued 1918-50. The earlier dates (1942-46) were struck at the Philadelphia mint, the later ones in Bogotá, leading to a flurry of repunched date varieties. Some specimens have no visible "B" mintmark and thereby earn a premium.

Recorded mintage: 6,053,000.

Specification: bronze, 21 mm diameter.

Catalog reference: KM 206.
