This type was issued 1889, 1898-99 under the 'Republica de Colombia'. The denomination is written as 'CINCUENTA CENTAVOS'. This specimen was part of lot 23696 and sold on April 18, 2011 for $460 at the 2011 April Rosemont Signature World & Ancient Coins CICF Auction #3014 by Heritage Auctions. The catalog description[1] noted, "Republic 50 Centavos 1899 Bogotá, AU50 NGC. This rarest Republica date was not offered in the extensive Whittier Catalogue. Uncleaned, well struck, attractive and highly desirable. From The Dana Roberts Collection."
