This type was issued 1869-1886 at the Medellin mint with many types and subtypes, overdates, edge varieties, etc. The denomination is written as 'CINCO DECIMOS'. This date is not rare tho less common than the years 1880-85 which are available in large numbers. Most specimens are the 1878/4 overdate.

Recorded mintage: 318,000.

Specification: 12.5 g, 0.835 fine silver, 0.335 troy oz ASW.
