This type was struck at Bogotá 1862-66, Medellin 1863-76 and Popayán 1864-76 and is the most available ten pesos of the nineteenth century Colombian issues. This specimen was lot 12203 in Ponterio sale 177 (Chicago, August 2013), where it sold for $1,116. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 10 Pesos, 1876/5. Medellin Mint. NGC MS-61. RARE in mint state."

Specification: 16.13 g, .900 fine gold, .467 troy oz AGW.
