This specimen was lot 44365 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $80. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 2 1/2 Centavos, 1876. Bogota Mint. AU-55 (PCGS). Evenly struck with full details, largely untoned. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This is from a type struck 1872-81 with reduced silver fineness from the Bogotá mint for Colombia. The Bogotá mint also struck quarter décimos 1863-73 but switched to 2½ centavos for 1872-81. The Popayán mint stuck to quarter décimos until 1881, when the denomination was switched to base metal.

Recorded mintage: 71,000, a slightly better date.

Specification: 0.90 g, 0.6660 fine silver, 0.0192 troy oz ASW.
