The first specimen was lot 42029 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $264. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1875/4-M 5 Decimos. Medellín mint. AU-50 (PCGS). Pleasing violet and gold tones blend sedately over lustrous surfaces and around well-detailed devices. A very handsome example with old collection toning. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins. Ex. Christie's Dallas sale of the Norweb Collection, November 1985, lot 764 (part)." The second specimen was part of lot 44349 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), which sold for $45. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. Lot of (2) 5 Decimos, 1875 & 1876. EF-40 (2) (PCGS). 2 pieces in lot. 1875/4, dark toned and no problems, and 1876, KM-153.5, Restrepo-297.7, well struck with attractive dark toning. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This is the common date of a type struck 1873-75 at Medellin. It is known only with the overdate 1875/4.

Recorded mintage: 197,000 (including KM 153.5, fineness facing out).

Specification: 12.5 g, 0.835 fine silver, 0.335 troy oz ASW.
