The first specimen was lot 42015 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $192. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 1872-B 50 Centavos. Bogotá mint. AU-50 (PCGS). The first issue of this series denominated as 50 Centavos, and the scarcer year of a two-year Bogotá type (three years if one includes Restrepo 307, which is a minor variant). Abundant original luster persists across both sides, with attractive gold and blue toning strongest at the peripheries. Some light hairlines are present, more notable on the obverse, but the visual appeal is very nice for the grade. This issue is called scarce by Restrepo. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." The second specimen was lot 44300 in Stack's Bowers ANA sale (Philadelphia, August 2018), where it sold for $40. The catalog description[1] noted, "COLOMBIA. 50 Centavos, 1872. Bogota Mint. FINE-15 (PCGS). Even wear, original surfaces with gray toning. From the Eldorado Collection of Colombian Coins." This is a scarce date of this type struck at Bogotá 1872-73.

Specification: 12.5 g, 0.835 fine silver, 0.335 troy oz ASW.
